Updates archive
Hey everyone, here’s a quick update. I shall be holding a raffle in Toronto in the next few weeks. Basically I’ll be wandering around the city, maybe doodling at a Starbucks or Tim Hortons and I will then hand out questionnaires only to those who are interested in the art of caricature. For everyone that fills out the survey they will receive a free tidbit, as well as a chance to WIN a CUSTOM CARICATURE PAINTING, or FREE LIVE CARICATURE SKETCHING for their next event. **MORE DETAILS TO FOLLOW SHORTLY!!** Another little piece of news is that I’ve been once again featured in The Liberal for a follow up on my profile piece from last fall. It’s a quick little Q&A so have a read if you like - http://www.yorkregion.com/article/94679. You may also download the file in PDF format: Download That’s all for now more to come soon. There will be some interesting projects coming up. So don’t forget to RSS the blog for frequent art updates. Check out the sketchbook and portfolio for some new pieces. As usual, I will post more frequent updates of sketches and such on the blog: http://drumok.blogspot.com
Hi everyone. Finally the long overdue update is finally here. There has been much going lately that has been contributing to the lack of updates, apologies. I have been working outside of Toronto for the past few months and have gotten a few freelance pieces published by Time Out Beijing: http://www.timeout.com/cn/en/beijing/.
Exciting news today everybody! York University International Development student Shariya Nuzhat is having a fund raising campaign for her Bike Rally event which takes her on a biking trip from Toronto to Montreal in the summer of 2009. I have decided to donate customized caricature pieces to the first few generous donors who donate $20 or more to her cause. Here is the blog where she has everything set up for you to get involved: http://biking4pwa.blogspot.com/
Hey everyone, there are some exciting projects about to get going, so there should be a load of updates in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, I have uploaded a revised self-caricature under the portfolio section, and also check here to see the process of how it was done http://drumok.blogspot.com/2008/12/self-revisited.html. I have also added a new watercolour memory sketch to the sketchbook. Stay tuned!
Hi everyone, I'm terribly sorry for the lack of updates as of late. Last week I was down in Raleigh, North Carolina for the annual National Caricaturist Network (NCN) convention (www.caricature.org) and I was quite amazed by some of the talent. I arrived totally unprepared for competition, but did what I could with what I had. Next year I will be much more prepared! There were workshops and seminars, and they even converted three connecting ballrooms into a giant art hall with an art supply store set up. The room was open 24 hours a day for about 4 days straight for artists to work on their pieces. It was a great time, and I recommend it to anyone who has any interest in caricature. On another note, the local newspaper here in Richmond Hill, the Liberal, caught wind of some of the work I have been up to, and wrote up a little profile piece. In it I talk about how I got into art, what I have been working on, and a few plans for the future. For a quick read: http://www.yorkregion.com/article/83845 You may also download the file in PDF format: Download That's it for about now. There are a few sketch and porfolio updates for your viewing pleasure, and I will make available some of the artwork for download in PDF format! Thanks for continuing to visit my site!
Time for an update! I have added 4 new sketchbook images, so be sure to check those out. Next weekend, August 16 and 17 2008, I will be drawing caricatures at Toogood Pond for the Markham Jazz festival (map). Come by if you can! New portfolio pieces and commissions will be posted in the near future, so check back soon. Don’t forget to contact me for any commission requests or questions! Thanks!
